JOB SUMMARY –
The Business Analyst – Technical Writing role is to plan, design, and develop effective business, financial, and operations communications materials in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing requirements in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Business Analyst – Technical Writing is also responsible for generating and presenting documents to provide clear understanding of business processes and systems across all levels of the organization. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• 5-7+ years’ experience in business analysis and gathering requirements for software and process improvement implementations
• 3 years of experience supporting application software implementations
• 2 years of experience writing and presenting technical documents and topics to business stakeholders

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
• Experience with core business processes across various functions, including, but not limited to, Finance, Accounting, HR, CRM, Sales, Marketing
• Practical knowledge of source and destination data mapping, ETL definition, data-oriented business rule definition
• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean or other process improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Experience translating requirements into test scripts
• Experience with Agile-based Project Management methodologies
• Experience documenting Business Process Flows using Microsoft Visio, or similar applications
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Be highly self-motivated, self-directed, and results-driven
• Capable of working independently
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, and nonverbal skills
• Logical and efficient when working with teams or self-paced
• Keen attention to detail demonstrated in written work
• Strong customer service orientation
• Experience working in a team-based, collaborative environment



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS –
• Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related technical or business field.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
• Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define/document business, financial, and operations requirements and systems capabilities
• Gain practical, working knowledge of ways business users leverage historical data to understand trends and answer questions
• Participate in design sessions in prototyping new systems and features to enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow
• Prepare or enhance written communications for ETS Leaders to share with all levels of the organization, including C-Suite audiences
• Make recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reporting capabilities
• Collaborate in the planning, design, testing, and deployment of new system capabilities and end user functionality
• Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address analysis solutions to existing business challenges
• Create process flows, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide ETS teams toward valuable solutions for the business stakeholders
• Partner with internal business constituents to facilitate, implement, and support processes and controls that increase overall efficiencies and decrease applicable risks to the enterprise
• Plan and prioritize daily documentation activities for self, and potentially others, based on the development plan
• Gather requirements through studying functional specifications and interacting with other Business Analysts, Technical Writers, and ETS team members
• Contribute to internal documentation initiatives as needed (e.g., announcements, visual displays of news and accomplishments, executive presentations, internal instructions, job aids, etc.)
• Able to successfully tackle any documentation project with minimal direction/supervision
• Enforce style and framework direction for the documentation/Online Help content
• Provide orientation and training to end users and lower level associates
• Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members
