Kelly Services is currently seeking an Area Security Specialist for one of the world’s largest chemical manufacturing companies located in Florham Park, NJ.

Length: 2/13/18 - 5/13/18 (with potential for extension)
Hours:
Pay Rate: $31.25 - $38.46 per hour

Responsibilities:

Business/Site Locations: Assist Regional Security Manager with oversight and management of 25+ sites including Florham Park HQ building. Position to be located in Florham Park but may require occasional travel for training or to support other North America sites as needed.

The Area Security Specialist has responsibility for the security program within their assigned area of responsibility. As such, the Security Manager leads efforts in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security practices and processes (in accordance with governing regulations and policies) to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability in all areas of information, financial, assets, physical, personal, and reputation risk. The Security Manager develops networks internally and externally throughout all functions and levels to influence and drive security initiatives. Participates in the development and management of contract security services and budget, as well as assist the responsible site personnel with capital expense and POM projects. Participates in crisis management planning and training efforts and must be capable of assisting the on-the-scene crisis response in the event of a significant incident. The Specialist will onboard site security personnel and maintain all data relevant to the sites updated on dashboard and other security systems.

The Area Security Specialist performs his/her role independently with limited supervision from the Region Security Manager and local site/area management requiring organization, technical and self-starter skills. The work material (e.g., investigations or crisis management response) can involve high-level, sensitive matters that require the Security Specialist’s sound judgment and discretion. The Security Specialist must maintain a thorough understanding of relevant federal and local regulations as well as internal policies and guidelines in order to ensure the area’s or site’s compliance with requirements.

The Security Specialist assists the Regional Manager in facilitating and conducting investigations of security-related incidents and allegations in coordination with appropriate functions (e.g., Compliance, HR, and Corporate Audit). Implements remediation efforts to prevent future incidents.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) preferred. Military and professional security experience will be considered in lieu of.
  • 3-5 years of previous managerial experience working in a corporate setting in an internal security department or equivalent.
  • Good analytical Excel skills
