Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with Group Benefits experience? Are you currently on the market for a new and exciting opportunity in New York? If so, Kelly Legal Managed Services might have just the opportunity for you!

We have an immediate need for a Compliance Manager with experience developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures for the group benefits business. This opportunity will work alongside internal and external business partners on compliance and legal related matters. We require a minimum of 3 years (or more) experience working in group benefits and compliance management; particularly with filing policy forms with the states.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
  • Draft, amend, analyze policy forms for Group Life and Health products
  • Develop, update and maintain documented compliance guidelines for internal associates as well as external business partners
  • Research and analyze laws and regulations to provide written guidance to appropriate business units and partners for implementation.
  • Review and approve group benefits advertising for compliance within legal guidelines
  • Collect, analyze data and manage timely reporting to federal and state regulatory departments and agencies

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years compliance or regulatory experience, insurance experience preferred, particularly in group health
  • Knowledge of legal research engines (e.g., Westlaw)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach others
  • People skills including the ability to influence, gain commitment and effectively handle conflict
  • Ability to take decisive action.
  • Excellent research skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify and analyze insurance laws and regulations for application to business operations
  • Ability to identify and effectively manage and resolve compliance issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and use electronic compliance programs (e.g. RegEd (Code) and Serengeti)
