Electrical Construction Manager - Houston TX 

Our client, a provider of consulting services in Project Management, Contruction and industrial services is looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to identify business opportunities and interface with clients to provide over site of electrical projects.  

In this role you will 

  • Assist in determining/soliciting project to bid
  • Review plans, specifications and other contract documents
  • Preparation of RFI’s and submittals
  • Attend pre-bid meeting(s) & visits jobsites to monitors progress of site activities, evaluating tasks to eliminate waste to meet critical points on the timeline; recommends corrective actions to ensure the project remains within the critical path.  
  • Preparation of cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor and other miscellaneous costs
  • Presentation of estimate to senior management
  • Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors
  • Leads and manages the electrical construction project tasks through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities, consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope in accordance with requirements specified in the contract documents
  • Review all subcontractor and supplier quotes for complete scope
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and closing out estimates
  • Monitors project productivity, cost and schedules, assist PM with corrective action plan when necessary. Help PM solve problems on unusually complex projects.
  • Prepare post-bid documents for archive of unsuccessful bids
  • Prepare post-bid documents an initiate buy-out process for successful bids
  • Maintain quality service for following organization standards
  • Maintain continuity among corporate, divisions, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Contribute to team effort through self-motivation and by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Partners with health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) site manager to implement and adhere to the safety and health requirements that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Perform related job duties as required


  • Strong communication (oral & written) and time management skills, and good at multitasking.
  • Excellent computer software skills to prepare and communicate electronically (internally and externally).  Planning, scheduling, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate confidence while being viewed as a leader, technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail when revising documents and reports to support project personnel.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work independently with close supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel.


  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in managing construction projects
  • Must have knowledge in cost estimating relative to transmission and distribution lines, electrical substations, medium and high voltage construction projects
  • Must have Business Development understanding and experience
  • PMP Certification Preferred
