The fabrication quality technician will be required to support the first piece and final inspection process for the fabrication area. Tasks will include monitoring of product quality against applicable drawings, specifications, and planning processes. Trouble-shooting, disposition of defects, and continuous improvement for the fabrication area will be included.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform and record first piece Inspections in the fabrication area Assist quality control technicians and assembly personnel where quality questions arise in planning, fabrication, or inspection Perform sorting visual inspection of suspect material Troubleshoot defects found at first piece and final inspections including communication with subject matter experts Read and interpret product blue prints Work with planning and engineering to resolve fabrication defects.
Strong written and oral communication skills
High School Diploma or GED 1 year experience in a manufacturing Quality Inspection 1 year experience with measurement equipment including calipers, micrometer, oscilloscopes, and gages
Ability and willingness to climb ladders, stand / walk for long periods of time Ability and willingness to lift / carry up to 40 pounds
Ability and willingness to work overtime hours as needed
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
Work alone or as member of a team
Work rapidly for long periods of time.
