The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and correct mechanical, electrical and process problems associated with production equipment to ensure proper operation and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the operations- business goals and objectives. This position operates on site in an on-call capacity and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position reports to the PE Department Manager.
What are the Job Responsibilities?
- Efficiently install, troubleshoots, and repair assigned facility equipment to ensure optimum production, usage and quality. - Maintain all safety work standards comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. - Assemble/disassemble and convert/ upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs and installation. - Identify and work with contractors to repair, install, remove, and/or upgrade equipment. - Perform basic PLC operation - Perform trial runs of machinery, fabricate new components and assemblies as required; (including fabrication of any part chutes, drops, conveyors or auxiliary equipment that is necessary to complete required part containment, or related parts or equipment that requires this application). - Assist in installations of equipment and perform preventative Maintenance - Regularly inspect production lines - Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production - Work concurrently with other technical personnel to enhance machinery productivity and up time - Utilize mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. - Read and interpret schematics, equipment manuals and work orders - Ability to perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions. - Communicate with other department personnel and support personnel from other departments - Other duties as assigned (may include work in other departments and manufacturing auxiliary equipment as assigned.)
What are the Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. - 5 years experience in Industrial Maintenance, Including knowledge of hydraulic, electrical controls, power transmission components and experience in maintaining machinery, manufacturing with high-speed automation equipment, or peripheral equipment utilized in assembly are preferred. - Strong hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC helpful . - Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. - Willing and Able to work any shift - Must have a valid Driver-s license and a good driving record - Must be able to lift 50 lbs and the ability and willingness to stand or walk during entire shift while working in moderate to noisy manufacturing environment - Good oral and written communication skills - Maintain a positive and professional attitude - Mechanical aptitude and proven ability to learn mechanical, electrical and material principles
