HR Assistant

We are hiring an Human Resources Assistant for a minimum 9 month contract in Carrollton, TX (near George Bush and Midway Rd.). The hours are noon to 8:30pm from Tuesday- Saturday. The ideal candidate will have an emphasis in Employee Relations experience preferably in a production environment. Will be dealing with discrimination, harassment, hostile environment, etc. This position DOES NOT require experience on the recruiting side. This position pays up to $20/hr. and we pay every Monday night and don't hold a week in-the-hole. A health, dental, vision insurance plan is also offered.

.Other duties:

Payroll & Timekeeping:
• Act as back-up for payroll processing by using multiple software systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll, monthly commissions, paid time off adjustments, leave of absence
• Identify, track and reconcile missing in, out, and lunch punches
• Identify Unpaid Time Off trends for employees and provide reports to management
• Monitor the Attendance Line, update Tracker and provide report to Area Managers prior to start of shift
• Partners with managers to educate, track and communicate compliance with company policy and federal and state regulations
• Audits Leaves of Absence and Returns to Work notifications and approvals against entries in HRIS
• Creates and generates reports for business customers (HR, Finance, people managers, etc.)
Pre-Hire & Onboarding:
• Partner with Onsite Medical Representative on status of pre-employment drug screens and communicate results to Ops Recruiting
• Ensure I-9 verifications are completed within required deadline
• Maintains reporting for the Employee Referral program
• Conducts new hire orientation
• Educate new hires on use of timekeeping and self-service tools Corporate Intranet & Wiki as additional sources of information
• Coordinate badge photos for new hires
• Provide overview of benefits and payroll via email to new hires
• Instruct new hires in Operations on the use of the ERC room
• Employee Life Cycle and HRIS:
• Ensures data integrity in HRIS (PeopleSoft) systems
• Research associate performance history for manager
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Min. 3+ years of related experience i.e. Employee Relations preferably in a production environment.
  • General HR or Payroll practices knowledge
  • Must be flexible to work the indicated schedule/shift
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Background and drug screen required
