PPNorCal is currently seeking a Part-time Float Clinician to serve our clients at the SF Bay Area (Contra Costa County, Sonoma, Solano, Napa and Marin Counties). 

As an integral part of the Health Center Clinical Team, the Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife, and other licensed providers) will function as part of a healthcare team to provide care under the standing orders and medical supervision of the Medical Director in accordance with PPFA and PPNorCal Medical Standards and Guidelines. The Clinician reports to the Center or Medical Director and is an integral part of the Client Services department. 

This is a non-exempt, part-time position working 32 hours per week OR 24 hours per week, and includes evening and Saturday shifts as needed. Salary is DOE + benefits package including Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, ETO and 403B!

• Work in the health center providing culturally competent reproductive health care services, including, but not limited to contraceptive care, medication abortion, STD screening, pregnancy and HIV testing, education and counseling in accordance with evidence-based practice protocols.
• Utilize knowledge of and experience in client care to:

◦Obtain a basic health history and comprehensive gynecological (GYN) history.

◦Perform a general physical exam, gynecological exam, and male exam.

◦Perform and interpret transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds

◦Obtain and interpret basic laboratory tests and results relative to GYN visit.

◦Recognize common non-GYN deviations from normal and provide management or referral as appropriate.

◦Recognize common GYN deviations from normal and provide management or referral as appropriate.

◦Screen for contraindications and special consideration to contraceptive methods.

◦Provide appropriate contraception to clients.

◦Test and treat STDs and other infectious conditions.

◦Provide care across the reproductive health lifespan, including menopause management.

◦Provide care for patients of all gender identities.

◦Construct an accurate assessment and plan based on history, exam, and lab findings.

◦Provide patient with general and basic reproductive health maintenance, education and counseling.

◦Assess and manage complications from surgical abortion, medication abortion, and vasectomy.

◦Provide medication abortion services.

◦Ensure complete and accurate medical documentation.

◦Act as a medical resource for health center staff.

◦Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity.


◦Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
