Kelly Services is currently seeking an Associate Scientist (I & II) in Mountain View, CA. to work a contract assignment of 6 months for one of our top clients. Primary responsibilities:

  • Utilize mass spectrometry for detection and quantification of therapeutic peptides and antibodies, including ADCs, small molecules and various biomarkers (proteins, lipids, metabolites).

  • Development, validation/qualification of quantitative mass spectrometry assays to support pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic/pharmacodynamic analyses in variety biological matrices (plasma/serum, etc.)

  • Conduct bio-analytical sample analysis in support of Non-GLP and GLP pharmacology and toxicology in vivo studies.

  • Utilize Sciex, Shimadzu, Agilent or CTC-PAL analytical instruments. Familiar with instrument software.

  • Be compliant to established SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and contribute to validation protocols, reports and bioanalytical reports.

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in troubleshooting, optimization and implementation of challenging and innovative LC-MS/MS assays.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in analytical chemistry/biochemistry with emphasis on LC-MS based bioanalysis of biotherapeutics, therapeutic peptides or small molecules.

• Hands-on experience with chromatographic separation of various analytes by LC and characterization and quantification by MS or MS/MS is essential.

• Proficiency with mass spectrometry software as well as spreadsheet, word processing, and graphical computer programs is required.

• Good organizational, documentation and technical writing skills are required.

• Good command of English (written and oral).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of chromatographic assay validation guidelines and GLP regulations is a strong plus.
• Experience working with biological matrices such as whole blood, serum and plasma is a plus.
• Experience in method development and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Strong preference will be given to those with industry experience.

M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences
2-5 years of relevant experience

Associate Scientist II
B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences
8-10 years of relevant experience
M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences
5-8 years of relevant experience
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences
0-2 years of relevant experience

The Associate Scientist I/II is expected to perform duties with minimal supervision
