Analytical Biotechnologist (Lab Technician), Plymouth, MN

 

Kelly Services is currently seeking an Analytical Biotechnologist for one of our top clients in Plymouth, MN.

Projected Duration: 12/11/2017 to 12/10/2018 (6 to 12 months)

Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $15-17/hr dependent upon education and experience

Hours:  32-40 hrs/wk, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday

                                                                

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively draw on basic analytical knowledge to generate positive economic outcomes.
  • They will contribute to the development of analytical tools and methods.
  • Set-up and execute HPLC and GC systems by calibrating and process using Empower Software.
  • Independently maintain documentation of work flows and results, prepares analytical standards and samples via routine wet chemistry.
  • Maintain sample waste streams.
  • 40% Preparation of analytical samples, standards, and properly disposes of waste according to written SOP. 
  • 40% Execute HPLC and GC sample loading, processing and chromatographic trouble shooting prior to effectively communicating results to diverse scientific teams. 
  • 15% First line troubleshooting analytical instrumentation. 
  • 5% Effectively communicate and coordinate with other team members to prioritize tasks and execute plans following defined protocols 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Associated Degree with two years of analytical lab experience or Bachelors degree in chemistry or biology related field
  • Experience with GC and HPLC systems

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemistry background strongly recommended.
  • Strong conviction for integrity of their data
  • Basic technical knowledge in analytical chemistry and sterile techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Well organized and detail oriented
