You: You are a self-motivated Accounts Receivable Specialist who contributes to the policies, procedures and processes related to the Accounts Receivable cycles for Apptio, Inc. You have knowledge of the accounts receivable cycle including, but not limited to, cash applications and collections processes. You will report to the Senior Revenue Manager and interact with other accounting groups, finance, sales, marketing, and legal teams.

What we want you to do: This role is responsible for all accounts receivable functions. You will be responsible for issuing invoices, applying cash collected against those invoices, issuing credit memos, and handling any other customer inquiries concerning accounts receivables and outstanding invoices. Also, you are responsible for reconciling AR related accounts and/or providing supporting schedules for internal and external requests. Essentially, you are the ‘go to’ individual for all things AR related.

  • Issue and send out customer invoices according to customer specifications
  • Calculate and post customer payments to appropriate general ledger accounts and verify details of transactions, such as funds received and total account balances
  • Prepare daily and as requested Aging schedules taking into account payment history and cash collections
  • Compile and sort documents, prepare and post invoices and credit and debit memos
  • Work diligently with internal and external parties on collection efforts including full utilization of Dunnings process
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations to support related GL balances


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or related business field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience performing AR related duties

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills including thorough knowledge of Excel
  • ERP System experience with NetSuite as preference
  • Problem solving skills with keen eye on process improvements
  • Ability to multi task and complete critical tasks on time
  • Customer service skill with strong written and oral communication skills
