HEDIS Administrative Assistant, Nashville, TN

Contract: 2/14/2018 - 4/30/2018 (Possible Temp to Hire) Interviews will be starting ASAP

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8AM- 5:00PM

Pay: $12.00 - 13.00/hour BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Position Overview: This position is responsible for verifying, and preparing HEDIS medical records for processing. Works under the direction of the Medical Records Intake Team supervisor and supports other HEDIS projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality review on returned medical records to ensure the records are legible and contain customer identifying information, such as name and date of birth
  • Sort and scan incoming records to the proper work area in the workflow
  • Process incoming records  to the proper work flow – HEDIS software
  • Contacting provider offices for additional missing information
  • Faxing and/or mailing provider offices HEDIS specific requests
  • Maintaining a daily production sheet
  • Maintaining an organized filing system
  • All medical records that are copied or received must be kept confidential in accordance with federal and local requirements and maintained at the office. 

 Skills:

  • Knowledge of medical records, including basic medical terminology
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook management, and Word
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually on time sensitive projects
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, accurate in data entry, able to follow directions and apply criteria for multiple measures
  • Skilled in use of basic office equipment (i.e., fax, photocopying equipment, printer, etc.)
  • General understanding of healthcare privacy regulations is desirable; training will be provided
    • Candidate must possess a professional appearance, have good oral and written communication skill, be self-directed, and well-organized

 Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Medical Terminology
  • Prior experience with working with medical records preferred
