TRC Professional Solutions seeks a Metal Fabrication Manager for a full time/direct hire role with a cutting-edge manufacturer in Alpharetta, GA.
This position requires an experienced manager with a background in metal fabrication to include various cutting, bending, and welding processes. Individual must possess a strong knowledge of various fabrication standards with emphasis on critical dimensional tolerance. The responsibilities of this position include hiring, planning, scheduling, organizing, training and over-all direction of day to day activities relating to production and equipment in the shop.

•Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
•The job requires an individual to track shortages needed for open manufacturing orders to keep production moving and meet customer shipment deadlines.
•Shortages are communicated to area supervisors and or procurement so that those items can be expedited.
•It also involves tracking parts sent to outside vendors and managing that they are returned or received in time to keep production moving.
•The manager needs to stay on top of scheduled shipments and production goals to make sure deadlines are met.
•If a material shortage becomes an issue that will not allow production to meet the schedule. It is the manager’s job to alert management so that a solution can be found or a customer can be alerted to a delay.
•Communicates Engineering Change Notices to the various production departments on new and/or revised raw materials, components and subassemblies.
•Provide safety, equipment operation and procedural training to fabrication shop staff, as needed and maintain safety records / reports.
•Establish work flow for all shop floor activities, including coordinating activity with other departments, development of manufacturing plans, identifying material, facility, equipment, and tooling needs, and resolving manufacturing and maintenance problems.
•Manage the activities of the fabrication shop floor.
•Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
Education and/or Experience:
•5+ years of experience as a supervisor of (10) or more fabricators.
•Strong machine shop experience spanning from raw materials to shipped goods.
•Background with CNC machining, assembly components, welding, paint, molding and other specific operations knowledge, such as quality assurance, plant maintenance, and shipping knowledge.
•Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and schematics.
•Demonstrated capabilities in planning, organization, integration, and control with respect to the material planning function.
