TRC Professional Solutions is looking for a Production Planner to work directly for our customer on a permanent basis in Acworth, GA. Their parent company is a large international manufacturer in the plastic injection molding industry. This employee will be responsible for receiving and inputting customer orders and forecasts into their system and planning production for all finished goods and internal work in process materials, needed to meet these orders. The Production Planner will work closely with the Operations Manager to coordinate production and operations-related assignments, as well as with the Supply Chain Manager, to ensure raw materials are in stock when needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Entering Customer Forecast and Orders received from our customers’ web portal into the SAP system.
Confirming Customer Orders with the customer and communicating any order date changes needed.
Converting customer orders/forecast into production orders based off signals from the SAP MRP.
Monitoring, analyzing & reporting performance to schedule of production & production support activities and utilizing information derived from MES system.
Ensuring correct parameters are set in SAP for each manufactured item.
Staying in constant communication with production to ensure production plan is met
Utilize experience with Kanban and manual data entry methods to ensure proper inventory levels
Coordination of production schedules for internal projects, external customers and maintenance
Working with purchasing group to ensure proper inventory of raw materials is maintained
Ensuring work in process inventories are sufficient to maintain finished goods production plan
Complete other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
High School diploma or GED
2 or more years’ experience in production planning in a manufacturing environment.
Past experience working with the MRP module in SAP
A strict focus on compliance and maintaining confidentiality.
Demonstrated success with managing several projects and priorities simultaneously.
Willingness and ability to travel 5% - 10% of the time both domestically and internationally.
Ability to prioritize task and manage a demanding work load.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and on a team, meet deadlines, identify problems and solutions.
Exceptional organization skills and ability to collect, analyze and summarize information.
