Technical Support Specialist-Austin, TX
Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a Technical Support Specialist. This opportunity is for our client, one of the world’s leading innovative technology companies, at its location in Austin, Texas.

This assignment tentatively starts in December 2017 and pays $15.50 per hour.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technical Support position will be responsible for the deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of the order taking system and its attendant equipment. This position requires extensive knowledge of networking, client-server applications, web standards, and logging in order to diagnose issues. Technical Support personnel will also be responsible for the physical deployment of printers, iPads, and other equipment necessary for the operation of the ordering system. Some travel within the Austin Area will be required.


Primary functions include working with personnel and IS&T in person, over the phone, and via email to assist with problem isolation and resolution, arranging repairs, using judgment to maintain the ordering system.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of MacOS, iOS and networking technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting client-server software and web applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing POS hardware, network hardware, and iOS hardware.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex networks.
  • Excellent interaction skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work support requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly deploy equipment in an onsite, production environment.
  • Advanced judgment, negotiation and structured problem solving methodologies.
  • Troubleshooting expertise and proven technical ability.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Resourceful and flexible to job needs.

 

Terms of the Assignment:

  • Full-time: Monday-Friday.
  • Flexibility to work between the hours of 5:00am CDT and 10:00pm CDT including weekends and holidays, with the possibility to flex up or down hours depending on business needs.
  • Some travel within the Austin Area will be required.
  • 1-year contract position: Tentatively starts December 2017 to December 2018.
