Job Title: Administrative Assistant for Tech. Department

Location: Newtown, Pa

Salary: $13-$16/hr. based on entry level or experienced Admin's with more experience.

Hours: 8:30am-4:45pm Monday-Friday with a 45 minute lunch

Start Date: A.S.A.P.

Summary:
The Administrative Assistant supports a busy department where projects move at a fast pace. This entry-level team member will perform a variety of administrative duties requiring independent judgment and close collaboration with other team members.

Duties and Responsibilities of an Administrative Assistant:

Screens incoming telephone calls.
Makes determination concerning importance of messages and proper action to be taken.
May also place outgoing telephone calls to achieve results necessary for management projects.
Relieves group director of administrative tasks, such as control of calendar and appointments, travel arrangements, expense reimbursements; organizes and determines priorities for incoming mail; reviews completed documents to ensure correct terminology, spelling, punctuation and grammar; maintains files.
Performs administrative activities that may require initiative and independent judgement after an initial briefing such as drafting correspondence and completing special projects within specified timetables.
Provides periodic reports to group director.
Provides word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer-based support as required.
Provides coverage for breaks, lunches, and absences for the front reception desk.
Assists human resources and facilities staff with projects, as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college level course work preferred.
Two years’ experience in an office environment to include experience with word processing system, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
Good organizational skills and ability to follow through and complete assignments.
Ability to accurately proofread is required, including good grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written and telephone skills.
The ability to work in a confidential environment is essential.
