Wage: $14.25/hour minimum. Wage based on Experience.
First Shift Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:00pm. Overtime possible on Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the VMC Operator is to safely produce high quality metallic parts on a vertical machining center. The standard for all equipment and tools used at GSM is that they perform as if they are new. Therefore it is expected that all operators participate in maintaining equipment, tools and their work environment.
Additional responsibilities specific to this position include: • Safely execute job responsibilities using proper PPE • Measuring precision tolerances using a variety of measurement devices • Blue print reading • Setup and operate CNC machining center to production standards • Reading job travelers and complying with work instructions • Machine tooling fixtures, dies, molds and parts to print specifications • Collecting product inspection results as required by inspection standards • Entering data to accurately complete transactions • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and projects • Communicating and maintaining the safety, quality and cleanliness standards set for the department.
• Ability to read blue prints
• Previous experience with CNC Machining
• Prefer experience with CNC Programming
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand on concrete for an 8-10 hour shift.
