Located in north Houston; our client has an immediate need for an experienced General Maintenance Technician.
The successful candidate will perform, track and assist the Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all general and preventive maintenance of production equipment, facility maintenance, and safety responsibilities in an industrial manufacturing plant. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm. Responsibilities - Performs scheduled preventative and general maintenance on all manufacturing systems including hydraulic presses, metal forming equipment, and various support equipment. - Repairs or replaces all defective components. - Performs system modification, assembly and fabrication as required. - Performs facility maintenance when necessary. - Provides feedback to Facility manager and Supervisor relating to maintenance issues, the team-s performance, and company related issues. - Shares knowledge with and assists in coordinating, delegating and overseeing daily general and preventive maintenance training of maintenance technicians. - Maintains and supports a safe working environment and audits, improves, and develops maintenance and facility safety programs. - Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Competencies/Skills - Ability to perform mechanical maintenance related to repairing heavy industrial equipment, replacing motors/drives and maintaining PM-s on all major equipment. - Familiar with operations and repairs related to hydraulic systems including maintaining and PM on hyd. pumps, cylinders, and associated piping system. - Familiar with operations and repairs related to pneumatic systems including maintaining and PM on air compressors and pneumatic system. - Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of associates and vendors. - Must have good verbal, written and organizational skills; quick to learn and apply new concepts. - Must be self-motivated and self -directed--able to work independently with a "production first" attitude. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in unprotected weather elements, wear hard-toed shoes and other required personal protective equipment. - Forklift operation a plus. - Ability and desire to follow all safety rules and be a leader and role model for the plant safety program. High School Diploma or G.E.D prefer Associate Degree or equivalent trade school course completion or military training. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years Industrial/Electrical Maintenance experience.
